Melasma often follows pregnancy and breastfeeding, but unfortunately not every treatment is appropriate during this sensitive period.
Here are a few suggestions to help you control blemishes with a daily skincare routine:
1- Vitamin C serum
Reduces pigmentation
Brightens the skin
Prevents DNA damage
Can be used before daytime sunscreen
Caution: Stabilization is easily destabilized, if it has turned a dark brown color, it is useless to use it anymore.
2- Niacinamide (Vitamin B3)
Supports the skin barrier
Reduces sensitivity and redness
Reduces pigmentation
Provides a dewy and radiant appearance
Can be used in the morning and evening
3- Azelaic acid
Prevents blemish production
Balances the color tone
Reduces the appearance of blemishes and redness due to acne and rosacea
Although it can be used in the morning and evening:
Acidic products require time for the skin to get used to them. Tolerance can be achieved gradually by using them at night and every other day at the beginning.
4- Bakuchiol
A highly tolerated retinol alternative,
So it is also an antiaging and antioxidant
Can be used in the morning and evening
5- Sunscreen
Of course it’s a must,
Mineral filter is our preference.
It’s an important trick:
Possible tolerance problems can be avoided if active ingredients are gradually added to the routine.
My personal recommendation is to start by distributing them over different times, such as morning-evening or every other day, rather than using different active ingredients at the same time. 💫
