Which Types of Hyperpigmentations Can Be Treated With Cosmelan?

Enzymatic peeling is a depigmentation method that reduce hyperpigmentation almost completely in a short time and can keep hyperpigmentation under control by preventing the reappearance of the dark pigment with home treatment protocols in the short and long term.

Clinical efficacy of the treatment in all skin and pigmentation type demonstrates the success of treatment in all ethnicities.

The enzymatic peeling method consists of 4 stages to achieve the target result:

Cosmelan Treatment Stages

1- Intensive Depigmentation (Intensive Pigment Removal)

Duration: 6 – 10 hours

Location Office – clinic

A special degreasing solution is applied to clean, dry skin using a gauze. Then the cosmelan 1 mask is applied evenly over the entire face, not just the hyperpigmented areas.

The product is applied with a spatula or gloves. The eye area is avoided.

To achieve maximum effectiveness, it is recommended to apply the entire product (10 g). In some cases, your doctor may recommend separating a small portion and reapplying it to the pigmented areas after 1 month.

After waiting for the time recommended by your doctor according to your phototype, severity of the pigmentation and skin type, the mask is removed by washing with warm water. Afterwards, your doctor will recommend creams and medications that you can use during the redness and crusting period.

2- Continued Depigmentation (Continued Lightening of the Dark Spots)

Duration: 2-3  months

Place: Home

Treatment is continued 48-72 hours after removing the mask. Depending on the redness and crusting, in some cases it may be necessary to wait up to 1 week for the second stage.

Cosmelan 2 is applied twice a day (morning and night), then melan recovery and melan 130+ pigment control should be applied during the day. In case of severe redness and crusting, Cosmelan 2 follow-up cream can be limited to two daily uses.

3-Hyperpigmentation Control (Stopping Stain Formation )

Duration: 2-3 months

Place: Home

Cosmelan 2 maintainance cream is applied at night, followed by melan recovery and melan 130+ pigment control during the day. In case of sun exposure, sunscreen should be reapplied at noon.

4-Preventive Treatment

Duration: 1-2 years

Place: Home

Cosmelan 2 is applied at night as often as your doctor has indicated (2-3 times a week), followed by recovery. During the day, melan 130+ pigment control is applied and should be reapplied in case of direct sun exposure.
