What is acne?
Acne is one of the most common skin diseases today.
How Pimples Look?
Pimples (acne) are often seen in the oilier areas of the skin. It can occur as red, pink, or yellow-colored, inflamed or non-inflamed bumps, blackheads (open comedones), white small bumps (closed comedones), or cystic structures. While acne is most commonly seen on the face, it can also occur on the shoulders, neck, chest v-zone, back, scalp and upper arms. Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment gain importance, as it is likely to cause permanent scars while healing and can lead to situations such as social withdrawal, loss of self-confidence, and depression. Acne can occur with the effect of changing hormones during puberty. Sometimes the onset of acne can occur after the age of 20, this type of acne is defined as adult acne. The treatment process in adult acne is longer than in adolescent acne, the disease is more resistant and requires more patience. Adult acne is more common in women
Sebaceous glands in the skin open to hair follicles. Acne occurs when these hair follicles are clogged with excess sebum (oil) and dead skin residues. Genetic, hormonal and environmental factors lead to increased oil production, creating black and white spots (comedones). The sheath of the clogged hair follicles breaks down after a while, and as a result of the leakage of dead tissue residues and sebum between the tissue, inflammations, red bumps, inflammations and cysts begin to appear on the skin.
What are the causes of acne?
• Genetic features, genetic predisposition
• Stress
• Unsuitable cosmetic products or applications
• Hormonal imbalances
• Some drugs (B12 supplements, hormone drugs, etc.)
How to Treat Acne?
Acne treatment is planned individually. A standard protocol is not applied to every patient in the treatment. A specific treatment is planned by evaluating the patient’s medical history together with the examination findings.
Depending on the type and severity of acne, treatments in the form of cream or oral medication, chemical peeling or mechanical discharge are applied.
Methods such as Micro Needle Radiofrequency, microneedling, fractional laser for the treatment of acne scars after or together with acne treatment, and vitamin, hyaluionic acid filling and mesotherapy treatments are applied in order to strengthen the effect of these procedures.
